Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts
24 - 28 June
2009.
On the main Avalon Stage you will find another strong, eclectic line-up of folk and roots influenced artists, together with Festival favourites. Artists include the delightful Will Young and Seth Lakeman, back by popular demand, alongside British Sea Power, The Wonder Stuff, Badly Brawn Boy, The Blockheads, Eliza Carthy and many more.
Try your hand at Raku pottery or come and make a feather headdress with Kitten Grayson and her crafty partner Andy Akinwolere of ‘Blue Peter’ fame. Enjoy a beer served by a buxom wench in the latest manifestation of our historic Avalon Inn, a stunning mock Tudor timber frame structure designed by A D Tree Pirate, or just doze by the fire enjoying stories, music and magic.
Out in the Village Green partake in stilt walking, unicycling and juggling, under the watchful gaze of grazing sheep and greedy crocodiles.
Join in the tug of war and other traditional, and not quite so traditional, fete games - yes covering yourself in pegs is fun! Be entertained by fire stunt Joe, take five in the large willow ball and catch a ride on the vintage roundabout. And when you have been exhausted by all this glorious entertainment you can just pull up a chair in the beer garden and watch everyone else play.
